Your Hospital Team
The Medical Staff
The physician who admits you is responsible for directing your care while you are in the hospital. Your physician, as the coordinator for your treatment program, should be consulted if you have questions about your illness. Hospital case managers and patient representatives are also available to provide information and/or discuss any concerns.
The Nursing Staff
24-hour nursing care is provided by a team of professional registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses and nursing associates. Please feel free to contact any member of the staff if you have questions.
Spiritual Care
Total care of patients at Paris Regional Medical Center is not complete without consideration of emotional and spiritual needs of each patient. Chaplains are available to be with you in time of crisis, grief or special need. No matter what your religious tradition, your wishes will be respected and assistance given for special needs and rituals. Should you desire assistance, ask your nurse or call the operator.
Social Workers
Social workers are assigned to each patient care area and are trained to help patients and family members deal with financial, social, and emotional problems that relate to illness or hospitalization. Members of the department work with patients and families to help deal with long-term illnesses and rehabilitation and are involved in discharge planning.
Financial Counseling
Financial counselors can answer questions about your hospital bill and help you interpret financial policies and billing procedures at the hospital. Financial counselors can be reached by calling Ext. 3265 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Volunteers
Volunteers contribute many hours of service and financial assistance to the hospital. They supplement the services of the hospital staff in many ways and can be identified by their name badges.
Other Personnel
During your stay you may be visited by many other health care professionals, including personnel from the laboratory and radiology departments and physical or occupational therapists. In addition, the Paris Regional family includes many behind-the-scenes workers, such as accountants, engineers, secretaries, food service workers, and others who contribute greatly toward your wellbeing while you are here.
Response/Comment Cards
Customers or visitors who would like to pay a written compliment to an employee or department may use special cards designed for this purpose. These cards can be found at various locations within the hospital, or ask your nurse for one. Customers and guests may also write comments on cards found at various hallway locations throughout the hospital. Each of these cards is used to relay your message to management as well as to the employee involved.
